Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission position sensor
* Wrench set
* Screwdrivers
* Rags
* Penetrating lubricant (optional)

Steps:

1. Ensure safety: Place the vehicle in park, apply the parking brake and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Locate the sensor: The automatic transmission position sensor is usually located on the side of the transmission, next to the gear selector.

3. Disconnect the connector: Locate the electrical connector connected to the automatic transmission position sensor and disconnect it by pressing the latch and pulling it.

4. Remove the mounting bolts: Using a wrench, remove the bolts securing the sensor to the transmission.

5. Remove the old sensor: Gently pull the sensor straight up to remove it from the transmission.

6. Clean the surface: Clean the surface of the gearbox where the sensor was installed using a cloth.

7. Apply Lubricant (optional): Apply a small amount of penetrating lubricant to the rubber O-ring of the new sensor.

8. Install the new sensor: Place the new sensor in place and tighten the mounting bolts by hand.

9. Connect the connector: Connect the electrical connector to the sensor by pressing down on the latch and clicking it into place.

10. Check Bolts: Make sure all mounting bolts are properly tightened.

11. Connect the battery: Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

12. Check operation: Start the vehicle and shift the gear selector to each position to check that the sensor is operating correctly.

Adviсe:

* Be careful when removing bolts as they may be fragile.
*If the bolts are rusted or stuck, use a penetrating lubricant to make them easier to remove.
*Make sure the new sensor is connected correctly to avoid transmission problems.
*If you are unsure of any of the steps, consult a qualified mechanic for assistance.
