Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission selector lamp (usually T10)
* Flat head screwdriver or small pry bar
*Clean cloth

Replacement instructions:

1. Make sure the engine is off and the transmission is in Park (P).

2. Remove the decorative panel around the automatic transmission selector.

It is usually secured with latches or screws. If it is clip-on, use a flathead screwdriver or small pry bar to carefully pry it loose. If it is attached with screws, unscrew them with a screwdriver.

3. Find the burnt out lamp.

It is located at the top of the selector, usually next to the “P” lettering.

4. Disconnect the burnt out lamp.

Turn the lamp socket counterclockwise to remove it from the socket. Remove the lamp from the socket.

5. Insert the new lamp.

Insert the new bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise to secure. Make sure the lamp is securely fastened.

6. Place the decorative panel back into place.

Press down on the panel to secure it to the latches, or tighten the screws if it was attached to them.

7. Check lamp operation.

Start the engine and shift the transmission through various modes to ensure that the new lamp is working properly.

Adviсe:

*If the lamp burns out again soon after replacement, this may indicate an electrical problem. Contact a mechanic for diagnosis and repair.
*Use a lamp with the same wattage as the original one. Using a lamp with a higher wattage may damage the electrical system.
* To avoid electrostatic discharge, discharge your hands by touching a grounded object before starting work.
* Wear clean gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints on the new lamp. Fingerprints may shorten the lamp life.
