Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission selector
* Wrench
* Ratchet socket set
* Pliers
* Rags

Instructions:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. This will prevent short circuits and damage to electronic components when working with the automatic transmission selector.

2. Remove the selector handle. It is usually secured with a clamp or screw. Use a screwdriver or pliers to remove it.

3. Remove the trim around the selector handle. It can be attached with screws or snaps. Use a screwdriver or plastic disassembly tool to remove it.

4. Remove the console. The console is usually secured with several bolts. Use a ratchet socket to remove the bolts and remove the console.

5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the automatic transmission selector. Use pliers to carefully remove the connectors.

6. Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission selector. They are usually located at the bottom of the selector. Use a wrench or ratchet socket to remove the bolts.

7. Remove the automatic transmission selector from the car. You may need to pull it up to do this. Be careful not to damage electrical connectors or other components.

8. Compare the new automatic transmission selector with the original one. Make sure the new selector is the correct shape and size.

9. Install a new automatic transmission selector. Reinstall it and tighten the bolts.

10. Connect the electrical connectors to the new automatic transmission selector.

11. Install the console. Reinstall it and tighten the bolts.

12. Install the trim around the selector handle. Secure it with screws or latches.

13. Install the selector handle. Place it in place and secure it with a clamp or screw.

14. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

15. Check the operation of the automatic transmission selector. Start the car and move the selector through all positions to make sure it operates correctly.
