Tools and materials:

*Socket set
* Hex key set
* Jack
* Racks for raising
* Transmission fluid
* New automatic transmission rear oil seal
* Sealant
* Clean rags

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Jack up the vehicle and place it on racks to raise it.

2. Draining transmission fluid:

* Locate the automatic transmission oil pan under the vehicle.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid into a previously prepared container.

3. Dismantling the cardan:

* Mark the position of the driveshaft relative to the rear axle and transfer case flanges.
* Remove the nuts securing the rear propeller shaft to the rear axle flange.
* Remove the driveshaft and set it aside.

4. Removing the cross member:

*Locate the cross member that supports the driveshaft.
* Remove the bolts securing the cross member to the frame.
* Remove the cross member.

5. Dismantling the exhaust system:

* If necessary, remove the exhaust pipe to gain access to the gearbox.
* Remove the bolts securing the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold flange and rear muffler.
* Remove the exhaust pipe and set it aside.

6. Dismantling the automatic transmission:

* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission to the engine.
* Support the automatic transmission with a jack.
* Carefully slide the automatic transmission back to disconnect it from the engine.

7. Replacing the oil seal:

* Remove the old rear oil seal from the automatic transmission output shaft.
* Before installation, lubricate the new cuff with transmission fluid.
* Place the new oil seal on the output shaft.
* Use a suitable tool to install the seal in place (for example, a mandrel or tube of the appropriate diameter).

8. Automatic transmission installation:

* Carefully insert the automatic transmission into place and connect it to the engine.
* Tighten the automatic transmission mounting bolts.

9. Assembly:

* Install the cross member and tighten its bolts.
* Install the rear propeller shaft and tighten the nuts.
* Place the exhaust system in place and tighten the mounting bolts.

10. Filling transmission fluid:

* Pour transmission fluid into the automatic transmission through the inspection hole until it begins to flow out of the hole.
* Install the inspection hole plug.

11. Completion:

* Remove the car from the racks to raise it.
* Start the engine and check the transmission fluid level using the dipstick.
*Add fluid if necessary.
* Test drive and check for leaks.
