Required tools and materials:
* Wrench set
* Ratchet socket set
* Seal puller
* New rear crankshaft oil seal
* Automatic transmission fluid
* Rags
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a lift or in a position that allows access from below.
* Disconnect the battery.
* Drain the automatic transmission fluid.
2. Removing the old crankshaft oil seal:
*Using a wrench, loosen the bolts around the transmission housing flange.
* Remove the bolts and separate the crankcase from the engine.
* Unscrew the oil pump bolts and remove it.
* Carefully pry the old oil seal with a puller and remove it.
3. Installing a new crankshaft oil seal:
* Lubricate the lips of the new oil seal with automatic transmission fluid.
* Carefully push the oil seal into place using a puller.
* Install the oil pump and tighten its bolts.
4. Installing the gearbox housing:
* Clean the mating surfaces of the crankcase and engine.
* Apply sealant to the crankcase mating surfaces.
* Install the crankcase onto the engine and tighten the bolts.
5. Assembly:
* Fill the automatic transmission fluid to the required level.
* Connect the battery.
* Start the engine and check its operation and leaks.
6. Recommendations:
* When installing a new oil seal, make sure it is completely and correctly seated.
* After replacing the oil seal, check the automatic transmission fluid level after a few days.
* If you are not confident in your abilities, it is recommended that you have the oil seal replaced by a qualified mechanic.
