Tools and materials:
* Set of keys
* Head set
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Phillips head screwdriver
* Crankshaft oil seal remover
* New crankshaft oil seal
* Sealant
* Cleaner
* Rags
Steps:
1. Preparation
* Place the car on a lift or place jacks under it.
* Let the car cool down for several hours.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Removing the transmission
* Disconnect the drive shafts from the transmission.
* Disconnect the exhaust system from the gearbox.
* Remove the driveshaft (if equipped).
* Remove the starter (if it interferes with access to the oil seal).
* Jack up the transmission and place a support underneath it.
* Disconnect the electrical and hydraulic connectors from the transmission.
* Remove the bolts securing the gearbox to the cylinder block.
* Carefully remove the transmission from the vehicle.
3. Replacing the oil seal
* Locate the crankshaft oil seal at the rear of the cylinder block behind the flywheel.
* Clean the area around the oil seal with cleaner.
* Using a flathead screwdriver, pry up and remove the old oil seal.
* Apply sealant to the outer surface of the new oil seal.
* Insert the new oil seal into the seat using an oil seal puller.
* Install sprocket or washer (if applicable).
4. Assembly
* Reinstall the gearbox on the vehicle.
* Tighten the transmission mounting bolts.
* Connect the electrical and hydraulic connectors to the transmission.
* Install the driveshaft (if equipped).
* Connect the exhaust system to the gearbox.
* Connect the drive shafts to the gearbox.
* Install the starter (if it was removed).
5. Completion
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Lower the car.
* Check the gearbox fluid level and top up if necessary.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Check for fluid leaks from the crankshaft oil seal.
* If there is no leak, the car is ready for use.
