Materials:

* Tool set
* New speed sensor
* Contact cleaner (optional)
* Electrical contact lubricant (optional)

Instructions:

1. Security

* Stop the engine and place the gear shift lever in the park position.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Locating the speed sensor

* The speed sensor is usually located on the transmission near the speedometer drive.
*Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for exact location.

3. Disconnecting the speed sensor

*Using a tool kit, disconnect the speed sensor electrical connector.
* Remove the bolt or nut securing the sensor to the gearbox.
* Carefully remove the sensor from the transmission.

4. Cleaning and preparation

* Clean the gearbox seat from dirt and debris.
* Clean the speed sensor connector contacts with contact cleaner.
*Lubricate the contacts with electrical contact grease (optional).

5. Installing a new speed sensor

* Install the new speed sensor in place and tighten the bolt or nut.
* Connect the electrical connector of the speed sensor.

6. Checking the work

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and check if the speedometer works.

7. Check for leaks

* While in parking, turn on the engine and move the shift lever through all gears.
* Check under the vehicle for transmission fluid leaks from the speed sensor.

Adviсe:

* It is recommended to use a new bolt or nut when installing a new speed sensor.
* Make sure the electrical connector is securely connected and not hanging loose.
