Tools and materials:
* Set of keys and screwdrivers
* Container for draining automatic transmission oil
* New oil pump seal
* Sealant
* Rags
Steps:
1. Prepare the car
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Allow the engine and transmission to cool.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Drain the oil from the automatic transmission
* Find the drain plug on the automatic transmission oil pan and place a container under it.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil.
3. Remove the automatic transmission oil pan
* Unscrew the bolts securing the oil pan to the automatic transmission housing.
* Carefully remove the oil pan. Be careful, there may be some oil left inside.
4. Remove the old oil seal
* Locate the oil pump, usually located at the bottom of the automatic transmission.
* Pull out the old oil seal with pliers or a screwdriver.
5. Prepare and install a new oil seal
* Lubricate the new oil seal with a small amount of sealant.
* Insert the new oil seal into the pump body, making sure it is a snug fit.
6. Reinstall the automatic transmission oil pan
* Clean the surface of the oil pan and automatic transmission housing.
* Apply sealant to the surface of the oil pan and install it back on the automatic transmission housing.
* Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts.
7. Fill the automatic transmission oil
* Fill the automatic transmission oil to the appropriate level indicated on the dipstick.
8. Pack everything else
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Check the automatic transmission oil level and add if necessary.
