Tools and materials:
* New gearbox
* Oil pan gasket
* Transmission filter
* Gearbox oil
* Set of keys and socket heads
* Mounting lever
* Jack and stands
* Funnel
* Rags
Replacement procedure:
1. Preparation
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Raise the front of the car on a jack and place it on stands.
2. Draining the oil from the gearbox
* Locate the transmission oil pan.
* Place a container under the pan to drain the oil.
* Unscrew the drain plug.
*Wait for the oil to drain.
3. Removing the oil pan
* Remove the bolts securing the oil pan to the transmission.
* Carefully remove the oil pan.
* Replace the oil pan gasket with a new one.
4. Removing the old gearbox
* Disconnect the speed sensor connector.
* Disconnect the gear shift rods.
* Unscrew the torque converter mounting bolts.
* Use the mounting lever to hook the transmission from the rear side and separate it from the engine.
* Remove the gearbox from the vehicle.
5. Installation of a new gearbox
* Lift the new gearbox into place.
* Install a new gearbox on the engine.
* Tighten the torque converter mounting bolts.
* Attach the gear shift rods.
* Connect the speed sensor connector.
6. Installing the oil pan
* Install a new transmission filter.
* Install the oil pan onto the transmission.
* Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts.
7. Filling the gearbox with oil
* Fill the gearbox oil through the filler hole.
* Install the filler plug.
8. Completion
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Remove the stands and lower the vehicle to the ground.
* Check the oil level in the gearbox and add it if necessary.
* Reset the adaptive transmission settings following the manufacturer’s instructions.
