Materials:
* New inner CV joint
* Grease for CV joints
* Clamps
* Socket/combination wrenches
* 30 mm head
* Screwdriver
* WD-40 (or similar penetrating spray)
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Remove the wheel from the relevant side.
2. Disabling the drive shaft:
* Jack up the car on the side where you will be replacing the CV joint.
* Locate and unscrew the wheel hub nut (30mm socket).
* Unscrew the brake caliper mounting bolt and remove the caliper along with the pads. Hang the caliper on a wire or rope without disconnecting the hose.
* Disconnect the steering tip from the strut (unscrew the pin nut).
* Using a screwdriver, remove the ABS sensor (if equipped).
3. Removing the drive shaft:
* Disconnect the drive from the wheel hub (pull it towards you).
* Remove the drive shaft from the gearbox (pull it straight towards you).
4. Replacing the CV joint:
* Remove the old CV joint from the drive shaft.
* Apply lubricant to the internal parts of the new CV joint.
* Install a new CV joint on the drive shaft.
* Secure the CV joint with a clamp.
5. Drive shaft installation:
* Insert the drive shaft back into the gearbox.
* Attach the drive to the wheel hub.
* Tighten the wheel hub nut.
6. Assembly:
* Connect the ABS sensor (if equipped).
* Install the tie rod to the strut and tighten the nut.
* Reinstall the brake caliper and tighten the mounting bolt.
* Connect the wheel.
7. Removing air from the system:
* Bleed the brakes to remove any air trapped in the system.
* Start the engine and change gear to check the operation of the CV joint.
Adviсe:
* Always use new clamps to secure the CV joint.
* Lubricate the CV joint generously to increase its service life.
* If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to entrust the replacement of the CV joint to a professional.
