Replacement procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Set the car to the parking brake.
* Jack up the car on the desired side and place it on stands for security.

2. Wheel removal:

* Using a socket wrench, unscrew the wheel mounting bolts.
* Remove the wheel.

3. Removing the brake caliper:

* Remove the bolts securing the caliper to the steering knuckle.
* Remove the brake pads and tie them with wire to keep them out of the way.
* Remove the caliper.

4. Removing the brake disc:

*If the brake rotor is rusted to the hub, use a hammer and punch to remove it.
* Remove the brake disc.

5. Disconnecting the steering rod:

* Locate the tie rod connecting the steering rack and steering knuckle.
* Unscrew the nut on the steering rod joint.
* Use a pry bar to separate the hinge.

6. Removing the drive shaft:

* Mark the location of the drive shaft relative to the wheel hub. This will help to install it correctly after replacing the CV joint.
*Sometimes the drive shaft will have to be knocked out with a hammer, but make sure you don’t damage the splines.
* Pull the drive shaft out of the wheel hub.

7. Removing the inner CV joint:

* Using a grinder, cut off the clamp securing the CV boot to the drive shaft.
* Clean the drive shaft of grease and dirt using brake cleaner.
*Using a flat-tip screwdriver, pry apart the CV boot to expose it.
* While holding the drive shaft, tap the inner CV joint with a hammer to release it from the splines.
* Remove the CV joint from the drive shaft.

8. Installing a new inner CV joint:

* Apply CV joint grease to the drive shaft splines and to the new CV joint.
* Place the CV joint against the drive shaft and tap it with a hammer until it snaps into place.
* Install a new CV boot and tighten the clamp.

9. Drive shaft installation:

* Install the drive shaft back into the wheel hub, following the previously made marks.
* Insert the tie rod joint and tighten the nut.

10. Installing the brake disc and caliper:

* Reinstall the brake disc.
* Install the brake caliper and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Install the brake pads.

11. Wheel installation:

* Put the wheel back in place.
* Tighten the wheel bolts.

12. Cleaning and lubrication:

* Remove grease and dirt from all parts you disassembled.
