Tools and materials:
* Set of keys
* Flat head and Phillips head screwdriver
* Hammer
* Jack and stands
* Puller for internal constant velocity joint
* New inner CV joint
* Grease for CV joints
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Raise the front of the car using a jack and install stands.
* Remove the wheel on the side where you want to replace the CV joint.
2. Removing the axle shaft:
* Disconnect the drive shaft from the wheel hub.
* Using a screwdriver, remove the steering knuckle from the steering knuckle.
* Remove the bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle.
* Move the shock absorber strut to the side.
* Using a hammer, knock out the axle shaft from the gearbox.
3. Removing the inner CV joint:
* Use a puller to remove the inner CV joint from the axle shaft.
* Remove the bolts securing the CV joint cover to the gearbox.
* Remove the CV joint cover and remove the old CV joint.
4. Installing a new CV joint:
* Apply CV joint grease to the axle splines and inner CV joint.
* Install the new CV joint on the axle shaft and secure it with a puller.
* Install the CV joint cap and tighten the bolts.
5. Installation of the axle shaft:
* Insert the axle shaft back into the transmission.
* Tighten the bolts securing the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle.
* Connect the tie rod to the steering knuckle.
* Connect the drive shaft to the wheel hub.
6. Completion:
* Install the wheel.
* Lower the vehicle to the ground.
* Start the engine and check the operation of the CV joint by making several revolutions at low speed.
Adviсe:
* Removing the inner CV joint may require considerable force.
* When installing a new CV joint, make sure it is properly secured.
* Use only high quality CV joint lubricants.
