Required tools and materials:
* New inner CV joint boot
* CV joint lubrication
* Clamps
* Sealant
* Mounting blade
* Brush with metal bristles
*Work gloves
Steps to replace the inner CV joint boot on a Chevrolet Cruze with automatic transmission:
1. Preparation
* Set the vehicle to the parking brake on a level surface.
* Remove the wheel from the side where replacement is required.
* Jack up the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
2. Removing the boot
* Remove the wheel hub nut.
* Remove the brake caliper and hang it so as not to damage the brake hose.
* Remove the brake disc.
* Unscrew the hub nut and remove the hub.
* Pry up the old boot with a screwdriver and remove it.
3. Cleaning
* Clean the drive shaft splines and the inside of the boot using a wire brush.
* Remove any remaining old grease.
4. Installing a new boot
* Apply CV joint grease to the drive shaft splines and the inside of the new boot.
* Install the boot on the drive shaft.
* Secure the boot with clamps on both sides.
* Apply sealant around the perimeter of the boot to prevent water and dirt from entering.
5. Assembly
* Reinstall the hub and tighten the hub nut.
* Install the brake disc.
* Install the brake caliper.
* Tighten the wheel hub nut.
* Install the wheel.
6. Completion
* Lower the vehicle to the ground.
*Tighten the wheel nut to the specified torque.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.
