Required tools and materials:

* Wrench set
* Screwdriver set
* Shaft extension (optional)
* New drive shaft
* Grease for CV joints
* Brake cleaner
* Gloves
* Jack and supports

Steps to replace the drive on a Honda Civic 4D automatic transmission:

1. Preparation

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Wear gloves and gather the necessary tools and materials.

2. Lifting the car

*Raise the front of the car using a jack and support it with stands for safety.

3. Removing the wheel

* Loosen the wheel nuts and remove it.

4. Disconnecting the lower ball joint

* Locate the lower ball joint at the bottom of the suspension strut.
*Use a wrench to loosen the ball nut and remove it.
*Use a drift to remove the ball joint from the control arm.

5. Disconnecting the steering rod

*Locate the tie rod attached to the wheel hub.
*Use a wrench to loosen the nut and remove it.
* Bend the tie rod to the side so that it is not in the way.

6. Disconnecting the drive from the gearbox

* Follow the drive shaft to where it connects to the transmission.
* Using a shaft extension (if necessary), disconnect the drive from the transmission housing.

7. Disconnecting the drive from the wheel hub

*Follow the drive shaft to the wheel hub.
*Use a wrench to loosen the nuts holding the drive to the hub.
* Carefully knock the drive out of the hub.

8. Cleaning and lubrication

* Clean the shaft splines and the inside of the wheel hub with brake cleaner.
* Apply a small amount of CV joint grease to the drive shaft splines.

9. Installing a new drive

* Insert the new drive into the hub and secure it with nuts.
* Reinstall the drive in the gearbox.

10. Assembly

* Connect the tie rod to the hub and tighten the nut.
* Attach the lower ball joint to the control arm and tighten the nut.
* Install the wheel and tighten the nuts.

11. Lowering the car

* Lower the vehicle from the jack and remove the jack stands.

12. Check

* Start the engine and check if the drive functions correctly.
* Drive the vehicle for a short time and listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.

Adviсe:

* Replace both drives if one of them fails.
* Make sure the new drive is the same length and type as the original one.
* Be careful when handling the drives as they are fragile.
* After completing the replacement, calibrate the wheel speed sensors.
