Required tools and materials:
* Set of special pullers for torque converter bushing
*Transmission housing
* New torque converter bushing
* Transmission fluid
* Seals, gaskets and fasteners
* Small hammer or rubber mallet
Replacement procedure:
1. Removing the transmission:
* Raise the car on a lift.
* Drain the transmission fluid.
* Disconnect the driveshaft and all electrical connectors.
* Remove the transmission housing from the motor.
2. Removing the torque converter:
* Locate the bolts connecting the flywheel and torque converter.
* Loosen the bolts using a bushing puller.
* Using a puller, carefully remove the torque converter from the flywheel.
3. Removing the bushing:
* Use a puller to pick up the inner edge of the torque converter bushing.
* Carefully remove the bushing from the torque converter.
4. Installing a new bushing:
* Lubricate the new bushing with transmission fluid.
*Insert the bushing into the torque converter using a puller.
* Make sure the bushing is completely seated.
* Remove the puller.
5. Installation of torque converter:
* Return the torque converter to the flywheel and align the bolts.
* Tighten the bolts using a bushing puller.
6. Transmission installation:
* Install the transmission housing onto the motor.
* Tighten all bolts and connect electrical connectors.
* Install the driveshaft.
7. Refilling with transmission fluid:
* Pour transmission fluid into the transmission housing.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.
8. Starting the engine:
* Start the engine and run it in park or neutral.
* Check for leaks and make sure the transmission is functioning properly.
