* New gear shift sensor
* Phillips screwdriver
* Flat head screwdriver
* Driver and socket or wrench of appropriate size
* Electrical contact lubricant (optional)
Procedure:
1. Safety first:
* Put the car on the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Determine the location of the sensor:
*The shift sensor is usually located on the side or bottom of the transmission.
* Locate the electrical connector on the sensor.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector:
* Press the connector locking tabs and pull it out of the sensor.
4. Unscrew the sensor:
*Using a suitable socket and wrench, remove the bolt securing the sensor to the transmission.
* Remove the sensor and bolt.

*Using a clean cloth or paper towel, clean the sealing surface on the gearbox.
* Remove any dirt, oil or debris.
6. Apply lubricant (optional):
* Apply a thin coat of electrical contact grease to the O-ring of the new sensor. This will help prevent corrosion and ensure a good electrical connection.
7. Install the new sensor:
* Insert the new sensor into the sealing hole on the transmission.
* Tighten the mounting bolt to the required torque.
8. Connect the electrical connector:
* Push the electrical connector onto the sensor until it clicks into place.
* Make sure it is securely connected.
9. Connect the negative terminal of the battery:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
10. Reset the fault code (optional):
