Steps:
1. Ensure safety: Set the parking brake and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Determine the location of the sensor: The automatic transmission position sensor is usually located on the automatic transmission housing, next to the gear selector.
3. Disconnect the sensor connector: Locate the sensor electrical connector and disconnect it by pressing the latch and pulling the connector.
