Instructions:

1. Raise and secure the vehicle. Make sure the car is securely supported on jacks or a lift.
2. Determine the location of the transmission oil pan. It is usually located at the bottom of the gearbox.
3. Drain the old oil. Place a drain container under the transmission oil pan and remove the drain plug. Let the oil drain completely.
4. Remove the oil pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the pan to the transmission and carefully remove it. You may need to pry the tray with a screwdriver to separate it.
5. Remove the old filter. Locate the old filter inside the oil pan and remove it. Clean the pan of any remaining oil or debris.
6. Install a new filter. Insert the new filter into the seat of the oil pan. Make sure it is properly secured.
7. Place a new gasket on the oil pan. Apply a small amount of sealant to the gasket for an additional seal.
8. Reinstall the oil pan. Lift the oil pan and install it in place. Tighten the pan mounting bolts to the specified torque.
9. Pour new oil into the gearbox. Open the drain plug and fill the transmission with oil to the recommended level using a funnel.
10. Tighten the drain plug and lower the car.
11. Check the oil level. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Then check the oil level. If necessary, add additional oil to the recommended level.
12. Reset the maintenance counter. If your vehicle has a transmission oil change service counter, reset it by following the instructions in your owner’s manual.
