Required materials:

* Automatic transmission oil (type and volume see owner’s manual)
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Tool set
* Oil drain container

Replacement procedure:

1. Raise the car. Use a jack to raise the front of the car. Install secure safety supports.

2. Find the automatic transmission pan. Under the hood, locate the automatic transmission pan, located at the bottom of the transmission.

3. Drain the automatic transmission oil. Place a container to drain the oil under the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew the drain plug on the pan and drain the oil. Let the oil drain completely.

4. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Clean the area around the pan and remove the bolts that secure it. Using a pry bar or screwdriver, carefully remove the pan from the transmission.

5. Replace the automatic transmission filter. Find the old automatic transmission filter in the pan and remove it. Place the new filter in place, making sure it is seated correctly.

6. Clean the automatic transmission pan. Clean the transmission pan and surface of old oil and debris.

7. Replace the automatic transmission pan gasket. Remove the old gasket from the pan and install a new one.

8. Reinstall the automatic transmission pan. Lift the pan into place and tighten the mounting bolts to the recommended torque.

9. Add automatic transmission oil. Using a funnel, add the required amount of new automatic transmission oil to the gearbox. It is recommended to use the dipstick to check the oil level.

10. Start the engine. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes, changing gears. Check the automatic transmission oil level and add more if necessary.

11. Lower the car. Slowly lower the vehicle from the safety stands to the ground.

Adviсe:

* If the gearbox is in good condition, it is recommended to change the automatic transmission filter and oil every 50,000-60,000 km.
* Use only automatic transmission oil and filter recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
*If the automatic transmission oil is very dark, metallic, or has a burning smell, this may indicate problems with the transmission. In this case, contact a qualified mechanic.
