Required materials:
* New automatic transmission filter
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
* 10 mm wrench or socket
* Pliers
* Drain pan
Replacement instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Draining liquid:
* Locate the transmission pan at the bottom of the transmission.
* Place a drain pan under the automatic transmission pan.
* Loosen the pan bolts with a 10 mm wrench or socket.
* Slowly unscrew the bolts until the fluid begins to flow out.
*Wait until all the liquid has drained.
3. Removing the pan and filter:
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the bolts holding the filter using pliers.
* Remove the old filter.
4. Installing a new filter:
* Reinstall the new filter.
* Tighten the filter bolts by hand, then tighten them with pliers.
5. Pallet installation:
* Clean the tray and magnet from metal shavings.
* Apply a thin layer of transmission fluid to the pan gasket.
* Reinstall the tray.
* Tighten the pan bolts with a 10 mm wrench or socket.
6. Filling liquid:
* Locate the automatic transmission filler plug, usually located on the side or top of the transmission.
* Unscrew the plug and fill in new transmission fluid.
* The fluid level should be between the “cold” and “hot” marks on the dipstick.
7. Checking the fluid level:
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift the gear lever to each position and return it to the “park” position.
* Take out the dipstick, wipe it and put it back in.
* The fluid level should be between the “hot” marks.
8. Final steps:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check for fluid leaks.
