Required tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission filter (original Hyundai number: 46321-3B000)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (original Hyundai number: 21513-3B000)
* Automatic transmission oil (type and volume depend on the car model)
* 10 mm wrench
* 17mm wrench
* 8 mm hex key
* Oil drain pan
* Funnel
* Rags
Instructions for replacing the Hyundai Sonata Tagaz automatic transmission filter:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Stop the engine.
2. Draining the oil:
* Place a pan to drain the oil under the automatic transmission.
* Unscrew the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan with a 17 mm wrench.
* Drain the oil into the pan.
* Tighten the drain plug.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:
* Unscrew the automatic transmission pan bolts with a 10 mm wrench.
* Remove the pan.
4. Filter replacement:
* Remove the bolts holding the old filter in place using an 8mm hex key.
*Remove the old filter.
* Install the new filter and tighten the bolts.
5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:
* Clean the surface of the pan and the adjacent surface of the automatic transmission from gasket residues.
* Install a new gasket on the pan.
* Install the pan and tighten the bolts with a 10 mm wrench.
6. Oil filling:
* Insert a funnel into the hole of the automatic transmission dipstick.
* Fill in the required amount of new automatic transmission oil.
* Remove the funnel and install the dipstick.
7. Checking the oil level:
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the automatic transmission selector to all positions and return it to the park position (P).
* Remove the dipstick and check the oil level. Add oil if necessary.
8. Resetting automatic transmission adaptations:
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for a few minutes.
* Reconnect the battery terminal.
9. Completion:
* Check for oil leaks.
* Drive a few kilometers and check the oil level again. Add oil if necessary.
