Materials:

* Replacement automatic transmission filter (part numbers: 46321-23001 or 46321-23010)
* Automatic transmission pan gasket (part numbers: 21513-23001)
* Transmission fluid (ATF) (volume according to your car model)
* Tool set
* Clean work clothes and gloves

Tools:

* Open-end and ring wrenches
* Hex key
* ATF drain pan
* Funnel

Step by step instructions:

1. Security measures:

* Be sure to wear clean work clothes and gloves.
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.

2. ATF drain:

* Find the automatic transmission pan drain plug.
* Place a tray under the drain plug to collect the liquid.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the ATF into the pan.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

* After draining the ATF, tighten the drain plug.
* Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to damage the gasket.

4. Cleaning the tray and magnets:

* Clean the pan of accumulated deposits and metal shavings.
* Magnets on the tray attract metal particles. Clean them thoroughly.

5. Replacing the automatic transmission filter:

* Locate and remove the old filter.
* Clean the filter seat.
* Install the new filter and make sure it is securely attached.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Install a new pan gasket.
* Thoroughly clean the seating surface of the pan and gearbox.
* Install the pan and tighten the bolts to the required torque (see repair manual).

7. ATF filling:

* Fill the gearbox with ATF through the automatic transmission filler hole.
* The fluid level should be between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks on the automatic transmission dipstick.

8. Checking ATF level:

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the transmission into Park (P) mode.
* Remove and check the fluid level on the automatic transmission dipstick. Add ATF if necessary.

9. Test drive:

*Take a test drive to ensure the transmission operates smoothly and correctly.

Adviсe:

* To extend the service life of the automatic transmission filter, it is recommended to replace it every 60,000-100,000 km.
*Only use transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
*Use proper safety precautions when handling transmission fluid as it can be hot and flammable.
