Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission fluid (about 4 liters)
* 10 mm wrench
* 17mm wrench
* 6 mm hex key
* Funnel
* Clean rag

Replacement instructions:

1. Prepare the car:

* Place the car on a flat surface.
* Apply the parking brake.

2. Drain the old automatic transmission fluid:

* Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a container under the plug to drain the liquid.
* Unscrew the drain plug with a 17 mm wrench. Be careful, the liquid may be hot.
* Draining continues until about 3 liters of liquid have flowed out.

3. Remove the automatic transmission pan:

* Clean the surface around the automatic transmission pan from dirt.
* Unscrew the pallet mounting bolts with a 10 mm wrench.
* Carefully pry the pan with a screwdriver and separate it from the gearbox.
* Pay attention to the gasket and remove it along with the pan.

4. Replace the automatic transmission filter:

* Unscrew the filter mounting bolts with a 6 mm hex key.
* Remove the old filter and install the new one.

5. Clean the tray and magnet:

* Clean the automatic transmission pan from the remains of the old filter and dirt.
* Pay attention to the magnet in the tray and clean it of any metal shavings.

6. Install a new pan with gasket:

* Apply a small amount of automatic transmission fluid to the new gasket.
* Install the gasket on the pan.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the mounting bolts with a 10 mm wrench.

7. Fill with new automatic transmission fluid:

* Open the hood and find the dipstick to check the automatic transmission fluid level.
* Insert a funnel into the dipstick hole.
* Fill in about 3 liters of new automatic transmission fluid.

8. Check the automatic transmission fluid level:

* Remove the dipstick, wipe it with a clean cloth and reinsert it into the hole.
* Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. It should be between the “Min” and “Max” marks.
* If necessary, add fluid to the required level.

9. Start the engine and warm up:

* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift the gear lever to different positions and return to park position.
* Check the automatic transmission fluid level again and add if necessary.

10. Reset the automatic transmission fluid replacement counter:

*Refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for instructions on resetting the automatic transmission fluid change counter.

Adviсe:

* Check the condition of the automatic transmission filter and fluid every 20-30 thousand kilometers.
* If the automatic transmission fluid has acquired a dark color or a burning smell, it must be replaced.
* Have your automatic transmission filter replaced by a qualified mechanic if you are unsure of your skills.
