Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Flushing fluid for automatic transmission
* Container for draining transmission fluid
* Funnel
*Socket wrench or wrench
* Screwdriver
* Gloves
* Brake or carburetor cleaner

Instructions:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Place a container to drain the transmission fluid under the automatic transmission pan.

2. Draining transmission fluid:

* Loosen the automatic transmission pan bolts and unscrew them by hand.
* Remove the pan and drain the transmission fluid into a container.

3. Filter replacement:

* The automatic transmission filter is usually located in the pan.
* Remove the old filter and clean the surface where it was installed of any remaining liquid or debris.
* Install a new filter. Make sure it is installed correctly.

4. Pallet installation:

* Clean the pan surface and the new gasket with brake or carburetor cleaner.
* Place the gasket on the pallet and press it down.
* Tighten the pan bolts to the specified torque.

5. Filling with transmission fluid:

* Add automatic transmission fluid to the pan and start the engine.
* Let the engine idle for a few minutes while changing gears.
* Drain the flushing fluid and repeat steps 2-4.
* Add new transmission fluid to the sump through a funnel.
* The fluid level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the dipstick.

6. Checking the fluid level:

* Start the engine and let it idle.
* Shift through all gears and return to park.
* Pull out the dipstick, wipe it with a clean cloth and reinsert it.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

7. Cleaning:

* Clean up any spills and clean the pan and area around the pan of any remaining transmission fluid.
* Reset the transmission fluid aging counter, if present.

*The type of transmission fluid used may vary depending on the vehicle model. Always use the transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer.
* Be careful when handling transmission fluid as it is hot and may cause burns.
