Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission filter Kia Sorensen Prime
* New spacer ring
* Automatic transmission pan
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Set of keys
* Funnel
* Automatic transmission fluid (Dexron VI)
Procedure for replacing the Kia Sorensen Prime automatic transmission filter:
1. Remove the automatic transmission pan. Unscrew all the bolts securing the pan to the automatic transmission housing. Place the drip pan in a container to drain the liquid.
2. Drain the automatic transmission fluid. Remove the old automatic transmission filter. Allow all liquid to drain.
3. Clean the automatic transmission pan. Remove the old gasket from the pan and clean the pan of debris and deposits.
4. Install a new automatic transmission filter. Insert the new filter into the automatic transmission housing. Make sure it is installed correctly.
5. Install a new spacer ring. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new gasket ring and install it on the automatic transmission pan.
6. Install the automatic transmission pan gasket. Place a new gasket on the transmission pan.
7. Attach the automatic transmission pan. Install the automatic transmission pan onto the automatic transmission housing and tighten the bolts. Tighten the bolts diagonally, distributing the force evenly.
8. Fill with new automatic transmission fluid. Use a funnel to pour new automatic transmission fluid into the automatic transmission pan. Check the fluid level on the automatic transmission dipstick.
9. Check the automatic transmission fluid level. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. Shift the gearshift lever to all positions and return it to neutral. The automatic transmission fluid level should be between the “hot” and “cold” marks on the automatic transmission dipstick.
10. Reset the automatic transmission fluid replacement counter to zero. If your Kia Sorensen Prime is equipped with an automatic transmission fluid change reminder system, reset the counter to zero.

* It is recommended to replace the automatic transmission filter and automatic transmission fluid every 60,000 km or 3 years.
*If you find that the automatic transmission fluid is dark or has a burning smell, it may need to be changed sooner.
