Required tools and materials:
* Wrench set
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Hammer
* Punch
* New differential bearings
* Transmission oil
* Sealant for gaskets
Procedure for replacing differential bearings in Kia Ceed automatic transmission:
1. Removing the transmission:
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Remove the air filter and intake hose.
* Disconnect the driveshaft from the differential.
* Disconnect all electrical connectors from the transmission.
* Remove the starter.
* Disconnect the torque converter and oil line.
* Place a jack under the transmission and remove it by unscrewing the mounting bolts.
2. Disassembling the differential:
* Place the transmission on the workbench.
* Remove the differential cover by unscrewing the bolts.
* Remove the satellite axis.
* Knock the bearings out of the differential housing using a hammer and drift.
3. Installation of new bearings:
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the inside of the differential housing.
* Insert the new bearings into the housing and drive them in using a hammer and drift.
* Reinstall the satellite axis.
4. Differential assembly:
* Install the differential cover and tighten the bolts.
* Tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the repair manual.
5. Transmission installation:
* Lift the transmission into place and secure it with bolts.
* Connect all electrical connectors, torque converter and oil lines.
* Install the driveshaft.
* Secure the starter.
* Install the air filter and intake hose.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Filling the transmission with oil:
* Open the filler plug and fill in new transmission oil.
* Fill in the required amount of oil specified in the repair manual.
* Check the oil level and add more if necessary.
Adviсe:
*Use only genuine Kia bearings.
* Mark the position of the bearings before removing them to ensure that new bearings are installed in the same location.
* Be careful when installing new bearings to avoid damaging them.
* After replacing the bearings, run the car in so that the new parts can break in.
