Directions:
1. Ensure safety: Place the vehicle in park, apply the parking brake and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the subframe: Loosen the subframe bolts and remove it, supporting it with jacks.
3. Disconnect the drive shafts: Disconnect the drive shafts from the differential using a constant velocity joint (CV joint) or circlips.
4. Remove the old differential:
— Unscrew the bolts securing the differential to the gearbox.
— Carefully remove the differential.
5. Install the new differential:
— Carefully install the new differential in place of the old one.
— Tighten the differential mounting bolts to the specified torque.
6. Connect the drive shafts:
— Connect the drive shafts to the new differential.
— Make sure the circlips or CV joints are securely installed.
7. Install the subframe:
— Reinstall the subframe and tighten the mounting bolts.
8. Change the automatic transmission oil:
— Drain the old oil from the gearbox.
— Install a new pan gasket and tighten the pan bolts.
— Fill in new automatic transmission oil in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
9. Connect the negative terminal of the battery:
— Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
10. Leak check:
— Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
— Drive the car and listen for any unusual noises.

*This procedure assumes the differential is removable. Some vehicle models may require the entire transmission to be replaced.
