Required tools and materials:

* New set of automatic transmission cooling pipes
* New automatic transmission filter (optional)
* New spacer ring (optional)
* Pliers
* Wrenches (sizes may vary)
* Container for draining automatic transmission fluid
* New automatic transmission fluid
* Napkins or rags

Procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Start the car and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Stop the engine and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes.
* Place the car on a lift or jack and secure it.

2. Draining the automatic transmission fluid:

* Find the automatic transmission pan and use wrenches to loosen the drain plug.
* Collect any leaking liquid in a container.
*If you haven’t changed your automatic transmission filter for a long time, now is the time to do it. Follow the filter manufacturer’s instructions.

3. Removing old cooling pipes:

* Locate the cooling pipes connecting the radiator and automatic transmission.
* Using pliers, loosen the clamps that secure the tubes to the radiator.
* Disconnect the pipes from the radiator.
* Then, using wrenches, loosen the fittings that secure the tubes to the transmission.
* Carefully disconnect the tubes from the automatic transmission.

4. Installation of new cooling pipes:

* Take new coolant pipes and insert them into the fittings on the automatic transmission.
* Tighten the fittings using wrenches.
* Attach the pipes to the radiator and tighten the clamps using pliers.
* If necessary, install a new spacer ring.

5. Filling with automatic transmission fluid:

* Fill the automatic transmission with new fluid through the filler plug.
* Start the engine and shift the gear lever to different positions to circulate fluid through the system.
* Check the fluid level using the dipstick and add fluid if necessary.

6. Resetting the automatic transmission fluid replacement counter:

* Some Audi models require the automatic transmission fluid change counter to be reset after replacing it. Consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual for instructions on how to do this.

7. Completion:

* Lower the vehicle from a lift or jack.
* Check for leaks and make sure all cooling pipes are securely attached.
* Take the car for a test drive and check that the automatic transmission is operating correctly.

* Dispose of used automatic transmission oil and filter in accordance with local regulations.
