Procedure for changing automatic transmission oil:
1. Safety First: Make sure the engine and transmission are cool. Put the car on the parking brake.
2. Clean the automatic transmission pan: Place a container under the car to collect used oil and clean the lower part of the automatic transmission pan with a metal brush.
3. Remove the automatic transmission pan: Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan with a 19 mm wrench. Carefully separate the pan from the transmission, allowing the used oil to drain into a container.
4. Remove the automatic transmission oil filter: Find the oil filter in the pan and unscrew its mounting bolt with a 10 mm wrench. Remove the old filter and clean its installation area.
5. Install a new automatic transmission oil filter: Apply a small amount of new oil to the gasket of the new filter and insert it into the installation location. Tighten the mounting bolt.
6. Clean the automatic transmission pan and install a new gasket: Clean the automatic transmission pan from the old gasket and oil residues. Install the new gasket onto the pan, making sure it is positioned correctly.
7. Install the automatic transmission pan: Install the automatic transmission pan in place and tighten the fastening bolts with a torque wrench in accordance with the specified tightening torque.
8. Fill in new automatic transmission oil: Using a funnel, pour 3 liters of new oil into the automatic transmission.
9. Check the automatic transmission oil level: Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. Keeping the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever through all positions and return to Park.
10. Check the automatic transmission oil level with a dipstick: Remove the dipstick to check the automatic transmission oil level and wipe it with a clean cloth. Reinsert the dipstick and remove it again. The oil level should be between the «Min» and «Max» marks on the dipstick.
11. Add oil if necessary: If the oil level is below the «Min» mark, add another 1 liter of oil and repeat the level checking procedure.
12. Take it for a test drive: Check the operation of the transmission by driving the car for several kilometers. Make sure that gear shifting occurs smoothly and without jerking.
