Materials:

* Automatic transmission seal kit (front, rear, oil pump seal)
* ATF fluid (a lot)
* Sealant for automatic transmission pan (if necessary)
* Tool set:
* Keys and sockets
* Screwdrivers
* Torque wrench
* Oil seal remover
* Oil pump O-ring (if needed)

Replacement procedure:

1. Disconnecting the automatic transmission

* Disconnect the battery.
*Remove the air filter.
* Disconnect the shift cables.
* Disconnect all electrical connectors and vacuum hoses from the automatic transmission.
* Disconnect the driveshaft.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission to the engine.

2. Removing the automatic transmission pan

* Place a container under the automatic transmission to catch any leaking fluid.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan.
* Remove the pan and drain the remaining liquid.

3. Replacing the front oil seal

* Remove the old oil seal using an oil seal remover.
* Clean the oil seal seat.
* Install the new oil seal using a hammer and mandrel.
* Tighten the oil seal using a torque wrench to the torque specified in the service manual.

4. Replacing the rear oil seal

* Remove the torque converter cover using 4 bolts.
* Remove the torque converter.
* Remove the old oil seal using an oil seal remover.
* Clean the oil seal seat.
* Install the new oil seal using a hammer and mandrel.
* Tighten the oil seal using a torque wrench to the torque specified in the service manual.

5. Replacing the oil pump seal

* Unscrew the bolts securing the oil pump to the automatic transmission housing.
* Remove the oil pump.
* Remove the old oil seal.
* Replace the oil pump O-ring if necessary.
* Install a new oil seal on the oil pump.
* Reinstall the oil pump and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the service manual.

6. Installing the automatic transmission pan

* Apply sealant to the automatic transmission pan, if necessary.
* Reinstall the pan and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the service manual.

7. Automatic transmission installation

* Install the automatic transmission onto the engine and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the service manual.
* Connect all electrical connectors, vacuum hoses, shift cables and driveshaft.
* Connect the battery.

8. Filling with ATF fluid

* Remove the automatic transmission filler plug.
* Fill with new ATF until it begins to flow out of the filler hole.
* Reinstall the filler plug.

9. Checking the fluid level

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear selector to all positions and back to Park.
* Check the fluid level on the dipstick. The level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks. Add fluid if necessary.

10. Cleaning

* Clean up spilled liquid and equipment.
* Make sure there are no leaks.
