Tools and materials:
* New set of automatic transmission seals
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Automatic transmission fluid
*Socket wrench
* Torque wrench
* Head set
* Flat head screwdriver
* Round nose pliers
* Gasket sealant (optional)
Procedure:
1. Preparing the car
* Move the gear shift lever to Park (P) position.
* Block the rear wheels with wheel chocks.
* Loosen the wheel bolts on the right side.
2. Removing the wheel and fender liner
* Remove the wheel on the right side.
* Remove the right front fender liner by unscrewing the mounting screws.
3. Removing the automatic transmission pan
* Unscrew the automatic transmission pan mounting bolts with a socket wrench.
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission pan and drain the remaining fluid.
* Clean the pan and the surface of the gearbox from old sealant.
4. Replacing oil seals
* Replace the output shaft seals, pump shaft seal and differential seal with new parts.
*Using pliers or a flat head screwdriver can make removing and installing the seals easier.
* Lubricate the seals with fresh automatic transmission fluid before installation.
5. Installing the pan gasket
* Apply a thin layer of gasket sealant to the transmission surface where the pan gasket will be installed.
* Install a new pan gasket.
6. Installing the automatic transmission pan
* Install the automatic transmission pan on the gearbox.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts in the order specified in the service manual.
*Use a torque wrench to ensure correct tightening torque.
7. Installing the fender liner and wheel
* Reinstall the right front fender liner.
* Reinstall the wheel and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Tighten the wheel bolts with a torque wrench.
8. Filling with automatic transmission fluid
* Remove the automatic transmission drain plug.
* Pour fresh automatic transmission fluid into the gearbox through the filler hole.
*The oil level must be as specified in the service manual.
* Install the drain plug.
9. Starting the engine
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift the gear lever to all positions to allow fluid to circulate.
* Check the fluid level again and add if necessary.
10. Reset fault codes
* Clear any automatic transmission related fault codes using a scanner.

*Use only original or third party parts recommended for your Subaru Impreza model.
*Follow the tightening instructions in the service manual. Over-tightening or under-tightening bolts can cause damage.
* Gasket sealant is optional, but using it can improve sealing and prevent leaks.
*Check the fluid level after the first few rides to ensure there are no leaks.
