Required tools and materials:
* Set of open-end and ring wrenches
* 10 mm head
* Phillips screwdriver
* Pliers
* Oil seal remover
* New oil pump seal
* RTV sealant
* Rags or paper towels
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
Instructions:
1. Ensure safety: Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brake and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Drain the transmission fluid: Locate and remove the transmission drain plug located on the bottom of the transmission. Drain the oil into a suitable container.
3. Remove the oil pump cover: Use a 10mm socket to remove the bolts securing the oil pump cover. Remove the cover and gasket.
4. Remove the old oil seal: Using an oil seal puller, carefully pry and remove the old oil seal from the oil pump housing.
5. Clean the surface: Thoroughly clean the surface of the oil pump housing and the inside surface of the cover from old sealant and dirt.
6. Apply Sealant: Apply a thin layer of RTV sealant to the new oil pump oil seal gasket. Also apply sealant to the oil seal rim.
7. Install the new oil seal: Insert the new oil seal into the oil pump housing with the spring side facing inward. Make sure it is installed correctly and flush with the chassis.
8. Install the oil pump cover: Install a new gasket on the oil pump cover and tighten the bolts. The tightening torque must be as specified in the service manual.
9. Fill the transmission fluid: Fill the transmission with new ATF through the dipstick. Replace the ATF plug.
10. Check the fluid level: Start the vehicle and let it idle. Check the fluid level with the dipstick and add if necessary.
11. Clear fault codes (optional): If the battery was disconnected when replacing the seal, a fault code may appear. Connect the OBD2 scanner and reset the codes.
12. Check for Leaks: Take a test drive and check for leaks under the vehicle.
Adviсe:
*Use a quality RTV sealant specifically formulated for transmissions.
* Do not overtighten the oil pump cover bolts.
*If possible, use a professional oil seal remover as this can prevent damage to other components.
* It is recommended to change the transmission fluid after replacing the oil seal.
*Consult your specific model service manual for proper torque and ATF volume instructions.
