Tools and materials:
* Wrench set
* Phillips and slotted screwdrivers
* Transmission sealant
* New automatic transmission oil seal
* Rags or paper towels
Instructions:
1. Preparation
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Removing the automatic transmission
* Unscrew the bolts securing the engine protection and remove it.
* Disconnect the drive shafts from the transmission.
* Disconnect the shift cables and wiring harness.
* Remove the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Carefully separate the transmission from the engine and lower it to the ground.
3. Replacing the oil seal
* Clean the surface of the gearbox from dirt and oil.
* Find the old oil seal and remove it using a slotted screwdriver or a special oil seal scraper.
* Clean the oil seal seat from any remaining old sealant.
* Apply a thin layer of sealant to the seat and to the new gasket.
* Install the new oil seal and carefully drive it in using a suitable mandrel or hammer.
4. Automatic transmission installation
* Lift the gearbox and install it in place.
* Tighten the bolts securing the transmission to the engine.
* Connect the drive shafts, shift cables and wiring harness.
* Install engine protection.
5. Completion
*Fill the transmission with transmission fluid according to manufacturer’s specifications.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.
Adviсe:
* Use the original oil seal or a high-quality equivalent.
* Clean all surfaces thoroughly and apply a thin layer of sealant.
* Be careful not to damage the new oil seal or gearbox during installation.
* After replacing the oil seal, drive a few kilometers to check for leaks.
