Materials:
* New gear shift knob
*Torx T20 screwdriver
* 5mm hex wrench (optional)
Steps:
1. Removing the gearshift knob frame:
* Pull the bottom of the shift knob frame to release it from the latches.
* Gently lift the frame up to remove it.
2. Disconnecting the connector:
*Locate the blue latch connector on the underside of the old shift knob.
* Press the latch and pull the connector at the same time to disconnect it.
3. Removing the old handle:
* Pry the latch on the bottom of the old shift knob using a T20 Torx screwdriver.
* Slide the handle up the shaft to remove it.
4. Installing a new handle:
* Slide the new shift knob onto the rod until it clicks into place.
* Tighten the latch on the handle with a Torx T20 screwdriver.
5. Connector connection:
* Insert the connector into the connector on the new shift knob.
*Press it until it clicks into place.
6. Frame installation:
* Reinstall the shift knob frame by aligning the latches.
*Press it down to secure it.
7. Check:
* Check that the new shift knob functions correctly by shifting gears.
Adviсe:
*If your vehicle has a parking release button, be careful not to damage it when removing the handle.
*You can use a 5mm hex key to tighten the latch on the shift knob if you find it convenient.
