Replacement procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Gather all necessary tools and materials.

2. Draining ATF fluid:

* Locate the drain plug at the bottom of the automatic transmission pan.
* Place a drain pan under the plug.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the ATF into the drain pan.
* While the ATF is draining, clean the drain plug and install a new gasket.

3. Removing the automatic transmission pan:

* Unscrew the bolts around the perimeter of the automatic transmission pan.
* Carefully remove the pan from the automatic transmission housing using a crowbar or flathead screwdriver.
* Allow any remaining ATF fluid to drain from the pan.

4. Replacing solenoids:

* Locate the solenoids in the automatic transmission housing. They usually have electrical connectors and are secured with bolts.
* Disconnect the electrical connectors.
* Unscrew the solenoid mounting bolts.
*Remove old solenoids and install new ones.
* Tighten the solenoid mounting bolts using a torque wrench to the torque specified in the repair manual.
* Connect the electrical connectors.

5. Installing the automatic transmission pan:

* Install the gasket on the automatic transmission pan.
* Place the pan on the automatic transmission housing and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Tighten the pan mounting bolts using a torque wrench according to the torque specified in the repair manual.

6. Filling with ATF fluid:

* Locate the filler plug on the side of the automatic transmission housing.
* Pour in new ATF through the filler plug.
* Refill with the same amount of ATF that was previously drained.
* Install the filler plug.

7. Checking the ATF fluid level:

* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift the gearshift lever to each position and return it to park mode.
* Remove the ATF dipstick and check the fluid level.
* If necessary, add ATF fluid to the “full” mark on the dipstick.

8. Final stage:

* Reset the transmission adaptation counter according to the instructions in the repair manual.
* Check the vehicle for ATF leaks.
* Take a test drive and make sure the automatic transmission is working properly.
