Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission selector
* Keys (including key for 12 and 14)
* Screwdrivers (phillips and flathead)
*WD-40 or other penetrating lubricant
* Clean rag

Instructions:

1. Security:

* Set the car to the parking brake.
* Disconnect the battery.

2. Removing the old selector:

* Locate the automatic transmission selector under the instrument panel.
* Loosen the selector lever mounting screws with a 12 or 14 wrench.
* Disconnect the wires from the selector by pressing the latches.
* Carefully disconnect the control rod from the selector handle.
* Pull out the old selector from the instrument panel.

3. Preparing to install a new selector:

* Lubricate the control rod with penetrating lubricant.
* Check the seating surfaces of the new selector and apply a thin layer of lubricant.

4. Installing a new selector:

* Insert the new selector into the instrument panel.
* Connect the control rod to the selector handle.
* Connect the wires to the selector.
* Tighten the selector lever mounting screws.

5. Checking operation:

* Connect the battery.
* Start the engine and change gears.
* Make sure that gear shifts smoothly and without delay.

6. Cleaning:

* Wipe all parts with a clean cloth to remove excess grease.

7. Adjustment (if necessary):

*If the gears do not shift properly, you may need to adjust the selector.
* Loosen the adjustment bolts under the selector knob and adjust the position of the knob until the gears shift correctly.
* Then tighten the adjustment bolts.

Adviсe:

* If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to have the selector switch replaced by a qualified mechanic.
*Always use lubricant to reduce friction and wear.
* Check the operation of the selector at regular intervals to ensure proper operation.
*Keep old parts in case you need them in the future.
