Required tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission selector
* Driver with 10 mm head
* Driver with 12 mm head
* New selector cable (optional)
* Phillips screwdriver
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Rags
* Lubricant for cables (optional)

Procedure:

Removing the old automatic transmission selector:

1. Place the vehicle in park, apply the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
3. Remove the gear shift knob from the automatic transmission selector.
4. Pry up and remove the plastic plug around the selector base using a flathead screwdriver.
5. Use a 10 mm socket to remove the bolt holding the automatic transmission selector.
6. Gently pull up the automatic transmission selector to disconnect it from the base.
7. Disconnect the selector cable from the selector lever.

Installing a new automatic transmission selector:

1. Apply a little lubricant to the lower part of the new automatic transmission selector.
2. Install a new selector cable on the selector lever if it has been replaced.
3. Insert the new automatic transmission selector into the base and tighten the bolt using a 10 mm socket.
4. Install the plastic plug around the selector base.
5. Install the gear shift knob on the automatic transmission selector.
6. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
7. Check the operation of the automatic transmission selector by switching modes and making sure that the car shifts correctly.

Additional tips:

* When disconnecting or connecting the selector cable, keep the selector lever in the Park position.
*If you are replacing the selector cable, adjust it according to the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.
*If you experience any problems during the procedure, contact a qualified mechanic.
