Required materials:
* Transmission fluid for automatic transmission (8 liters)
* New oil pan cover
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Oil pan gasket
* Clean drain container
* Wrench set
* Stiff bristle brush
* Brake cleaner
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Stop the engine and shift through all gear positions to circulate fluid through the system.
2. Draining old oil:
* Locate the drain plug on the automatic transmission oil pan.
* Place a drain container under the plug.
* Loosen the drain plug and drain the old oil into a container.
*Note: Drain off as much old oil as possible.
3. Replacing the oil filter:
* Unscrew the oil pan cover bolts.
* Carefully remove the oil pan cover.
*Remove the old oil filter and install a new one.
* Install a new gasket on the oil pan cover.
4. Installing a new oil pan cover:
* Install the oil pan cover and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
5. Filling with new fluid:
* Using a funnel, pour 4 liters of new transmission fluid into the automatic transmission through the dipstick hole.
* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift through all gear selector positions to circulate fluid through the system.
6. Checking the fluid level:
* Stop the engine and wait a few minutes to allow the fluid to drain.
* Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
* Insert the dipstick back and remove it again.
* The fluid level should be between the marks on the dipstick.
* If necessary, add or drain fluid to adjust the level.
7. Resetting the oil change counter:
* Start the engine and make sure it is idling.
*Press and hold the mileage button for a few seconds until you see the “Service reset” message.
* Press the button again to reset the counter.
