Tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission light (necessarily compatible with your car)
* Phillips screwdriver or ratchet wrench with extension and 10 mm socket
* Gloves (optional)
Instructions:
1. Ensure safety: Park the vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Find the control panel: Sit inside the car and locate the control panel on the center console.
3. Remove the control panel: Using a Phillips screwdriver or 10mm ratchet, remove the two screws holding the control panel in place. Then gently pull the panel up and towards you to remove it.
4. Locate the automatic transmission light: The automatic transmission light is usually located on the left side of the control panel. It can be screwed or snapped into place.
5. Disconnect the battery terminal (optional): For added safety, you can disconnect the battery terminal to avoid short circuit.
6. Disconnect the automatic transmission light:
*If the light bulb is screwed on, unscrew it using a Phillips screwdriver or ratchet wrench.
*If the bulb is latched, gently push it in and turn it a quarter turn, then pull it out.
7. Install a new automatic transmission light bulb: Insert the new light bulb into the socket and turn or screw it into place. Make sure it is securely fastened.
8. Connect the battery terminal (optional): If you disconnected the battery terminal, you can now connect it.
9. Install the control panel: Replace the control panel and secure it with two screws.
10. Check the automatic transmission light: Start the car engine and check if the automatic transmission light is on.
Adviсe:
*Using gloves will help keep your hands free of oil or dirt.
* Do not touch the glass part of a new light bulb as this may shorten its life.
*Before installing a new bulb, it is recommended to clean the socket with a clean cloth or cotton swab.
* If the automatic transmission light does not come on after replacing it, it may be faulty or there are other wiring problems. In this case, contact a qualified mechanic.
