Required tools and materials:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Set of spanners
* 6 mm hex key
* Flat head screwdriver
*Wooden block
* Hammer
* New differential bearing
* Detergent for parts
* Clean rags
Instructions for replacing the differential bearing in a Hyundai Accent automatic transmission:
1. Remove the gearbox:
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Drain the gearbox oil.
* Disconnect the driveshaft from the gearbox.
* Remove the starter.
* Disconnect all electrical connectors and hoses from the transmission.
* Place a jack under the gearbox.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Carefully lower the transmission and remove it from the vehicle.
2. Remove the differential:
* Place the gearbox on the workbench.
* Remove the differential cover using a flat head screwdriver.
* Inspect the differential gears for wear or damage.
* Remove the ring from the differential bearing using a hex wrench.
*Use a block of wood and a hammer to knock the old differential bearing out of the housing.
3. Install the new bearing:
* Clean the bearing housing of dirt and debris using a parts cleaner.
* Apply a coat of grease to the new bearing.
* Install the new bearing into the housing.
* Insert the old ring back into the groove.
4. Install the differential and cover:
* Reinstall the differential into the transmission housing.
* Install the differential cover and tighten the mounting bolts.
5. Gearbox installation:
* Lift the transmission into place and install it on the engine.
* Tighten the transmission mounting bolts.
* Connect all electrical connectors and hoses.
* Install the driveshaft.
* Install the starter.
* Fill the gearbox with transmission oil.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
6. Check:
* Start the engine and let it run.
* Check the operation of the gearbox in all gears, including reverse.
* Make sure there are no oil leaks or other problems.
