Required materials:
* New automatic transmission
* Transmission housing gasket
* Transmission oil filter
* Gear oil
* Wrench set
* Lift or stand jack
* Socket wrench extension
* Torque wrench
Instructions:
1. Lifting the car:
* Place the car on a lift or jack it up and place it on stands.
2. Draining the transmission fluid:
* Unscrew the transmission housing drain plug using a wrench.
* Drain the liquid into a container for disposal.
3. Disconnecting the driveshaft:
* Unscrew the bolts connecting the propeller shaft to the gearbox flange.
* Disconnect the driveshaft and secure it to the side.
4. Removing the starter:
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Unscrew the nuts securing the starter and disconnect it from the engine.
* Remove the starter.
5. Removing the gearbox:
* Remove the bolts holding the transmission to the engine using a socket wrench extension.
* Carefully lower the transmission to the ground.
6. Installing a new gearbox:
* Clean the engine gearbox mounting surface and install a new crankcase gasket.
* Lift the new gearbox and install it onto the engine.
* Tighten the engine mounting bolts to the required torque using a torque wrench.
7. Installing the cardan shaft:
* Connect the propeller shaft to the transmission flange and tighten the bolts.
8. Starter installation:
* Install the starter onto the engine and tighten the nuts.
9. Filling new fluid into the transmission:
* Remove the filler plug on the transmission housing.
*Pour new transmission fluid into the crankcase.
* The volume and type of transmission oil are specified in the vehicle owner’s manual.
10. Starting the engine and checking the fluid level:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Check the gearbox fluid level and top up if necessary.
