Replacement and flushing of automatic transmission oil

Tools and materials:

* Gearbox oil
* Transmission filter
* Transmission pan gasket
* Sealant
* Tool set
* Funnel
* Drain pan
* Gloves

Procedure:

1. Preparation:

* Place the car on a level surface and brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Gather the necessary tools and materials.

2. Draining old oil:

* Locate the drain plug on the transmission pan.
* Place a drain pan under the plug.
* Unscrew the plug and drain the old oil into the pan.
* Allow the oil to drain completely.

3. Removing the transmission pan:

* Remove the bolts securing the pan to the gearbox.
* Carefully remove the pan from the transmission and drain the remaining oil.
* Remove the old pan gasket.

4. Cleaning the tray and magnet:

* Clean the tray and magnet of any accumulated metal particles and debris.

5. Installing a new filter and gasket:

* Install the new filter into the filter housing.
* Apply a small amount of sealant to the pan gasket.
* Install the gasket on the transmission pan.

6. Installing the transmission pan:

* Attach the pan to the transmission and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the repair manual.

7. Refilling with new oil:

* Using a funnel, pour new oil into the filler hole on the transmission.
*Add oil to the level indicated on the dipstick.

8. Checking the oil level:

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Place the gear selector in Park (P).
* Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth.
* Insert the dipstick back into the hole and remove it again.
* The oil level should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” marks on the dipstick.

9. Test ride:

* After changing the oil, drive a few kilometers to allow the new oil to circulate throughout the system.
* Check for leaks and make sure there is no noise when shifting gears.

10. Final steps:

* Dispose of old oil and filter according to local regulations.
* Make a note of the oil change and mileage in the service book.

Adviсe:

* It is recommended to change the gearbox oil and filter every 50-100 thousand km, depending on operating conditions.
*Use the transmission oil recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.
* When flushing the gearbox, use only special products designed for this procedure.
* Do not overtighten the bolts and be sure to apply sealant to the gasket.
* After changing the oil, check the oil level after a few days to make sure there are no leaks.
