Tools and materials:

* New automatic transmission
* Transmission fluid
* New automatic transmission filter
* Pan gasket sealant
* Wrench set
* Mount
* Jack and stands

Precautions:

* Disconnect the battery before starting work.
*Follow all safety instructions.

Procedure for replacing automatic transmission:

1. Preparatory work:

* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Raise the front of the car using a jack and install stands.
* Drain the remaining transmission fluid by unscrewing the drain plug on the automatic transmission pan.

2. Dismantling the automatic transmission:

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Remove the air filter and engine control unit (if necessary).
* Disconnect all electrical connectors going to the automatic transmission.
* Disconnect all transmission cables (kickdown, etc.).
* Unscrew the exhaust system mounting bolts and release it away from the automatic transmission.
* Disconnect the driveshaft from the automatic transmission.
* Unscrew the starter mounting bolts and disconnect it from the automatic transmission.
* Loosen the torque converter mounting bolts.
* Disconnect all automatic transmission cooling pipes.
* Pry off the automatic transmission with a mounting tool and disconnect it from the engine.
* Carefully remove the automatic transmission from the vehicle.

3. Installation of a new automatic transmission:

* Lubricate the torque converter steel guide tube with transmission fluid.
* Install the new automatic transmission in place.
* Align the torque converter with the guide tube and insert it into the automatic transmission.
* Tighten the torque converter mounting bolts.
* Connect all automatic transmission cooling pipes.
* Connect the starter to the automatic transmission.
* Reinstall the driveshaft.
* Connect all transmission cables.
* Connect all electrical connectors.
* Install the engine control unit and air filter (if removed).

4. Final work:

* Install the automatic transmission pan gasket and apply sealant.
* Install the pan and tighten the bolts.
* Fill with new transmission fluid to specification.
* Connect the battery.
* Lower the vehicle and check the transmission fluid level.
* Take a test drive and make sure that the automatic transmission is working properly.

Additional tips:

* It is also recommended to replace the front crankshaft oil seal and rear crankshaft oil seal when replacing the automatic transmission.
* Always use new gaskets and bolts when installing an automatic transmission.
* Consult a qualified mechanic if necessary.
