Diagnostics

* Connect a diagnostic scanner to check trouble codes and transmission data.
* Inspect the transmission for leaks, noises, and other suspicious signs.

Required parts and materials

* Set of gaskets and seals for gearbox rebuild
* Clutches, steel discs and other parts as required
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
*Transmission filter
* Transmission fluid drain plug

Tools

* Set of wrenches and sockets
* Torque wrench
* Automatic transmission rack or lift
* Hydraulic jack and support legs

Repair procedure

1. Draining transmission fluid

* Place the vehicle on a lift or support stands.
* Open the transmission drain plug and drain the fluid.

2. Removing the gearbox

* Disconnect the electrical connectors, cables and shafts from the transmission.
* Loosen the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine and the mount.
*Use a lift or transmission stand to lower the transmission.

3. Disassembling the gearbox

* Remove the transmission housing bolts and separate it into pieces.
* Remove the clutch pack, steel discs and other components.
* Clean all parts from dirt and debris.

4. Inspection and replacement of parts

* Inspect all parts for wear or damage.
* Replace any worn or damaged parts such as clutches, steel plates, bearings and seals.

5. Gearbox assembly

* Install new parts in the correct sequence.
* Install new gaskets and seals.
*Tighten all bolts and nuts to manufacturer specifications.

6. Gearbox installation

* Reinstall the gearbox and tighten the mounting bolts.
* Connect all electrical connectors, cables and shafts.

7. Refilling with transmission fluid

* Install a new transmission filter.
* Fill with the recommended type and volume of transmission fluid.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

8. Testing

* Start the car and let it run in parking mode.
* Shift gears through the entire range and check for smooth shifting and absence of extraneous noise.
* Test drive and check transmission performance under various driving conditions.
