Tools and materials:

* Set of keys
* Phillips screwdriver
* New transmission pan (if necessary)
* New gear oil
* Funnel
* Rags

Automatic transmission removal guide:

1. Preparing the car

* Place the vehicle on a lift or level surface.
* Make sure the gear shift lever is in the “P” (Park) position.
* Disconnect the battery by disconnecting the negative terminal.

2. Remove the transmission pan

* Loosen the bolts holding the transmission pan, but do not remove them completely.
* Tap the pan with a rubber mallet to loosen the sealant.
* Carefully remove the pan and drain the remaining gear oil into a container for disposal.

3. Disconnect drive shafts

* Remove the bolts securing the inner CV joints of the drive shafts to the gearbox.
* Pull the drive shafts to disconnect them from the transmission.
* Plug the shaft holes with rags or plugs to prevent oil leakage.

4. Disconnect the wiring harness and tubes

* Disconnect all wiring harnesses and tubes connected to the transmission.
* Mark the location of all connectors and tubing for reconnection during reassembly.

5. Unscrew the gearbox mounting bolts

* Remove the lower bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Remove the side bolts securing the gearbox to the brackets.
* Remove the top bolts securing the gearbox to the engine block.

6. Remove the gearbox

* Carefully remove the transmission from under the vehicle.
* If the transmission is heavy, use a lift or an assistant.

7. Replacing the transmission pan (if necessary)

* If the transmission pan is damaged, remove it and install a new one.
* Apply sealant to the new pan and install it in place.
*Tighten the pan bolts to the specified torque.

8. Gearbox installation

* Carefully put the gearbox back into place.
* Tighten the upper mounting bolts.
* Tighten the side mounting bolts.
* Tighten the lower mounting bolts.

9. Connecting drive shafts

* Lubricate the drive shaft splines with transmission grease.
* Insert the drive shafts into the transmission and tighten the inner CV joint bolts.

10. Connecting wiring harnesses and tubes

* Connect all wiring harnesses and tubes to the transmission.
* Make sure all connectors and tubes are properly connected and tightened.

11. Changing transmission oil

* Fill the gearbox with new gear oil through the filler hole.
* Check the oil level and add if necessary.

12. Battery connection

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

13. Checking work

* Start the engine and shift the gear lever to different positions.
* Check for leaks and strange noises.
