The automatic transmission reduction resistor on the Nissan Micra K12 is located under the hood, not far from the battery.
Replacement Instructions:
1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Find the pull down resistor, which will look like a small black cylinder with two wires.
3. Using a socket wrench or screwdriver, remove the nut that secures the resistor to the car body.
4. Disconnect the two wires from the resistor.
5. Install a new step-down resistor, securing it with a nut to the car body.
6. Connect two wires to the new resistor.
7. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
