Location:

*Located under the intake manifold, attached to the engine thermostat housing.

Replacement procedure:

Tools and materials:

* Open-end wrench or 19 mm spanner
* Pliers
* New automatic transmission radiator thermostat
* Coolant (optional, depending on whether coolant will be drained)

Steps:

1. Cool the engine and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the air filter and air intake pipe.
3. Remove the bolts holding the intake manifold to the throttle body using a 19mm open-end wrench or wrench.
4. Carefully lift the intake manifold and support it to gain access to the automatic transmission radiator thermostat.
5. Using pliers, disconnect the two hoses going to the thermostat.
6. Using a 19mm open-end wrench or wrench, remove the bolts securing the thermostat to the engine thermostat housing.
7. Remove the old thermostat and replace it with a new one.
8. Tighten the bolts using a 19mm open-end wrench or wrench.
9. Connect the hoses to the new thermostat.
10. Reinstall and secure the intake manifold.
11. Reinstall the air filter and air intake pipe.
12. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

Notes:

* If coolant leaks out of the hoses when you remove them, they may need to be refilled.
*Before starting the engine, make sure all connections are securely tightened.
* Run the engine and check for leaks at the hose connections.
