Materials:
* New gear oil (the amount is indicated in the vehicle’s owner’s manual)
* New transmission oil filter
* New drain plug seal
* Tool set (19mm wrench, 13mm wrench, funnel, gloves)
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and secure it with the parking brake.
* Run the engine for 10-15 minutes to allow the oil to warm up and become less viscous.
2. Draining old oil:
* Open the hood and locate the transmission dipstick. Remove it and wipe with a clean cloth.
* Place a container with a capacity of at least 3 liters under the car.
*Locate the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. Unscrew it with a 19 key.
*Wait for the old oil to drain. This may take 10-15 minutes.
3. Replacing the oil filter:
* Locate the oil filter housing on the transmission. It is usually located next to the drain plug.
* Unscrew the housing with a 13mm wrench.
*Remove the old oil filter and install a new one.
* Lubricate the O-ring on the new filter with transmission oil.
* Screw the oil filter housing back into place.
4. Filling with new oil:
* Insert a funnel into the transmission dipstick hole.
* Pour new transmission oil into the funnel. The oil volume must correspond to that specified in the vehicle’s operating manual.
* Check the oil level after a few minutes. To do this, insert the dipstick into the hole, remove it and wipe with a clean cloth. The oil level should be between the «Min» and «Max» marks on the dipstick.
5. Final steps:
* Install the drain plug with a new O-ring.
* Reinstall the transmission dipstick.
* Start the engine and let it run for 1-2 minutes. This will allow the new oil to be evenly distributed throughout the gearbox.
* Recheck the oil level and add if necessary.
Adviсe:
* Use gear oil recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
* Change the gearbox oil every 60,000 — 80,000 km or as needed.
