Required tools and materials:
* Set of keys
* Hex key
* Screwdriver
* Hose puller
* New heat exchanger gasket
Instructions:
1. Preparing the car
* Place the vehicle on a lift or level surface.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Disconnect the battery.
2. Removing the automatic transmission heat exchanger
* Disconnect the hoses leading to the heat exchanger using a hose puller.
* Remove the bolts securing the heat exchanger to the gearbox and radiator.
* Carefully remove the heat exchanger.
3. Replacing gaskets
* Remove the old gaskets from the heat exchanger and transmission/radiator housing.
* Clean the seating surfaces from any old gasket residue.
* Install a new gasket on the heat exchanger.
* Place a new gasket on the transmission/radiator housing.
4. Installation of the heat exchanger
* Reinstall the heat exchanger.
* Tighten the bolts securing the heat exchanger.
* Connect the hoses to the heat exchanger.
5. Filling with transmission fluid
* Fill the gearbox with transmission fluid to the required level.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to allow the fluid to flow through the system.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.
6. Completion
* Connect the battery.
* Lower the vehicle from the lift.
* Check for transmission fluid leaks.
