Changing the oil in a Peugeot 3008 automatic transmission
Required tools and materials:
* New automatic transmission oil (consult your owner’s manual for oil type and quantity)
* New oil filter
* Transmission pan gasket
* Funnel
* Oil drain pan
* Keys or ratchet with heads
* Skanda (if necessary)
Steps:
1. Safety First: Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off. Allow the engine to cool.
2. Raise the car: Raise the car using a jack and securely fix it on the support stands.
3. Locate the transmission pan: Locate the transmission pan, it is usually located on the bottom of the transmission.
4. Drain the old oil: Place an oil drain pan under the transmission pan. Loosen the drain plug using a wrench or ratchet. Be prepared for a lot of oil to leak out.
5. Replace the oil filter: Unscrew the bolts securing the oil filter and remove it. Install the new oil filter and tighten the bolts.
6. Clean the transmission pan: Clean the transmission pan of any old oil and metal shavings using a rag or degreaser.
7. Install New Gasket: Apply a thin layer of sealant to the new transmission pan gasket. Install the gasket onto the transmission pan.
8. Install the transmission pan: Attach the transmission pan to the transmission with bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
9. Fill with new oil: Insert a funnel into the oil fill hole and add new oil. Check the oil level using a dipstick or diagnostic scan tool. Add oil if necessary.
10. Reset the oil change counter: If your vehicle has an oil change counter, reset it according to the instructions in your owner’s manual.
11. Check the oil level: Warm up the engine and gearbox. Check the oil level on the dipstick or using a scan tool. Add oil if necessary.
Notes:
* The engine and gearbox must be warm before changing the oil.
* Dispose of old oil and filter according to local regulations.
* It is recommended to change the automatic transmission oil every 60,000 — 100,000 km or more often if used intensively.
